Batteries

Used batteries are considered hazardous waste in California. This includes single-use and rechargeable Alkaline and Lithium AAA, AA,C, D, button cell, 9-volt, and other small household batteries. For less waste, use rechargeable batteries. Note: Businesses selling rechargeable batteries must take them back for recycling.

NOTE: It is important to Prepare your batteries for disposal by taping each end to prevent potential combustion in the collection bin.
